Leona Anna Woksa, 85, of rural Council Bluffs died Sept. 7 at home.
She was born Nov. 26, 1918, in rural Council Bluffs to Henry and Amelia (Enselman) Thieschafer. She attended Abraham Lincoln High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church.
Mrs. Woksa and her husband, Frank J. Woksa Jr., would have been married 65 years on Sept. 21, 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughters, Linda Kay and Janice Kay; brothers, Henry and Walter Thieschafer; and son-in-law, Kenneth Johnson.
Survivors in additiion to her husband include daughter, Lona Johnson, of Council Bluffs; grandson, Roger Johnson, and wife, Mary, of Council Bluffs; granddaughter, Rhonda Gunther, and husband, John II, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Kendra and John Gunther III of Lee's Summit, Allison and Melinda Johnson of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be tonight from 7 to 8 at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Harter officiating. Burial will be in Plumer Settlement Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church.
Memorials may be offered to St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church.
