Mildred Frances Thieschafer, 87, of rural Council Bluffs died Jan. 11.

She was born in Omaha to Frank and Agnes (Pliska) Woksa. She graduated from Omaha South High School. Prior to her marriage she was employed as a statistician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Lincoln, Neb. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church, Women's Christian Association, Jennie Edmundson Hospital Auxiliary, Women's Fellowship of St. Paul's Evangelical Country Church and a 4-H Leader.

Mrs. Thieschafer was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D., on Sept. 14, 1995.

Survivors include daughter, Ruth Thieschafer, of rural Council Bluffs; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Bernie Thieschafer, of rural Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Amy J. Olsen and husband, Mark, of Minden, Brad Thieschafer of Council Bluffs, Jeremy Meyers and wife, Darcie, of Neola, Matthew Meyers, Council Bluffs; great-grandchildren: Reed and Gage Olsen; brother, Frank and wife, Leona Woksa, of Council Bluffs.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Harder and Rev. Aaron Simons officiating. Burial will be in Plumer Settlement Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Mills County Historical Museum or Plumer Settlement.

Mildred Frances Thieschafer, 87, of rural Council Bluffs, died January 11 2004. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2004, 1 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel in Council Bluffs. Rev. Joe Harder and Rev. Aaron Simons will officiate the services. Burial will be at the Plumer Settlement Cemetery in rural Mineola.

Olsen and husband Mark of Minden, Brad Thieschafer of Council Bluffs, Jeremy Meyers and wife Darcie of Neola and Matthew Meyers of Council Bluffs; great-grandchildren, Reed and Gage Olsen; and brother Frank Woksa and wife Leona of Council Bluffs.

Memorials are suggested to the Mills County Historical Museum or the Plumer Settlement. Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
