Old Resident of County is Dead

J. Deitrich Thieschafer, 82, a resident of Mills and Pottawattamie counties since 1881, died at a Council Bluffs hospital at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Death followed a two weeks' illness of kidney troubles.

Born in Germany Mr. Thieschafer came directly to Iowa in 1881. He had made his home recently with his son, Henry Thieschafer of Oak Township. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving him are two sons, Henry and Fred Thieschafer of Oak township; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Gosch of Little Sioux and Mrs. Christinia Schoening of Belgrade, Nebr., fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Following a short service at Cutler's mortuary at 1:30, funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lutheran church in Plumer settlement. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery at Plumer settlement.


Funeral services for J. Deitrich Thieschafer were held Tuesday at Cutler's chapel at 1:30 p. m. and at 2:30 at the Lutheran church in Plumer settlement. Rev. Albert Hoff of Millard, Neb., officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Ellen Skaith and Mrs. R. A. Mann. Pallbearers were Herman Gosch, Herman Kemper, William Huff, William Schilde, John Owens and Carl Schroeder. Burial was in Lutheran cemetery at Plumer settlement.
