Charles F. Spetman, 63, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines.
Charles was born June 30, 1944 to Alfred and Leurine Spetman in Council Bluffs and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church there. He worked as a farmer, truck driver, and retired in 2006 as an appraiser from Asset Appraisal Service in Ralston, Neb.
Charles moved to Madrid after retiring to spend time with his daughters and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Leurine Spetman.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Craig) Twedt of Polk City, Connie (Todd) Harmeyer of Madrid, Emily (Jeff) Atwood of Collins, and Ann (Jason) Krause of Slater; grandchildren, Gracie, Logan, Kendall, Tanner, and Dylan; brother, Alfred Spetman of Boone; sisters, Marilyn DeMay of Red Oak and Carol (Doug) Lemons of Villisca; and a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 239 Frank Street, Council Bluffs. Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday at Plumer Settlement Cemetery in Mills County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given Hospice of Central Iowa, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, or the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
