Elmer A. Schroeder, 96 of Council Bluffs passed away February 5, 2013 at Risen Son Christian Village.

Elmer was born on a farm in rural Council Bluffs on March 25, 1916 to Carl and Minnie Schutt Schroeder who preceded him in death.

He was also preceded by his wife Lucille; siblings William, Marie, Fred, Martha, Arnold, Lawrence and Helen.

He is survived by his daughters Janice and her husband George Abraham, Diane Schroeder; son David and his wife Ruth Schroeder; granddaughter, Jill Schroeder; grandson Joshua and his wife Caley Schroeder; and brother Carl.

Visitation will be Friday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Maher-Livingston Funeral Home. Funeral service Saturday, 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Plumer Settlement Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Rainbow Post #2. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Risen Son Christian Village, 3000 Risen Son Blvd., Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503.
