Robert J. “Bob” Scheidle

Robert J. “Bob” Scheidle, age 69, of Council Bluffs, passed away on January 18, 2009, at Methodist Hospital, in Omaha, Neb.

Bob was born on the family farm on July 19, 1939 to the late William C. and Viola E. (Enselman) Scheidle. He graduated in 1957 from Abraham Lincoln High School and married Sondra Smith on February 4, 1966. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He had a love for his farm and especially his family. Bob took great pride in his family and had a special fondness for his grandchildren and enjoyed their many activities.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William H. Scheidle.

He is survived by his wife, Sondra; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Teresa Scheidle; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Dave Nielsen and Anne and Dan Robbins; sister, Dolores and her husband Jerry Duggan; 8 grandchildren, Matt, Ryan and Cole Scheidle, Dana Nielsen, Justin Ross, Jordan Nielsen, Jack and Kendall Robbins; mother-in-law, Opal Viner; sister-in-law, Jacquie Pilling and her husband Hubert; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation with the family is Wednesday, 5-8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service is Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church Orchard Campus, 20794 Hwy. 92, in Council Bluffs. Interment is in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery.
