Karl (Charles) Saar

Charles Saar, a farmer who lived two miles north of Sliver City, met with a fatal accident near C. Plumer's farm, Monday night. From some cause his team went over the side of the bridge taking the buggy, Mr. Saar and a Mr. Miller with them. The next morning the lifeless body of Mr. Sarr (sic) was found in the bed of the stream, with the weight of the buggy resting upon his breast, death having been caused by injuries received in the fall. The remains were brought to his late home Tuesday afternoon and the funeral will be held at the Brick Church, west of Meneola, this (Thursday) mroning. It is thought at present that it will not be necessary to hold an inquest.

Charles Saar Found Dead.

At a late hour Tuesday night news was received in this city of the death of Charles Sarr, (sic) who had been a resident of the east and of the county for many years. He went to Glenwood on Tuesday on a matter of business and started to return to his home in Silver City, Mills county. Nothing more was seen of him, and on Wednesday a party of men went to look for him, fearing that some accident had befallen him. He was at length found lying in Pony Creek with his neck broken, his wagon having evidently fallen over the side of the bridge and precipitated him to the ground below. The deceased was 30 years of age and left a wife and one son. The remains were taken to his home and the coroner of Mills county was notified. An inquest was held yesterday. The funeral will occur this morning at 10 o'clock from the residence, and services will be held in the Plumer settlement church at noon.
