Joseph Nansel, 69, well-known retired farmer, whose home was in Lewis township, died late Wednesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. R. Wall, 3611 Fifth avenue, after an illness of two years. He was born in Illinois and had lived in Pottawattamie county for forty-five years. He is survived by three sons, C. H. Nansel and Joe Nansel of Lewis township, and A. D. Nansel of Omaha, three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Wall of this city, Mrs. Phillip Kellogg of Glenwood, Ia., and Mrs. Harold Schicketanz of Alexander, Ia., four brothers and two sisters. He also leaves ten grandchildren. The body was removed to Cutler's funeral home and funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from Cutler's chapel, and at the brick church in Plumer settlement at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Hoff of Treynor officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery in Plumer settlement.
