Linda G. (Pleas) Leigh, age 63, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 22, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous 4 year battle with cancer. Linda was born June 18, 1948 in Council Bluffs to Gordon and Norma (Powley) Pleas. She graduated from Lewis Central High School in 1966. Linda was an engineer for Century Link, formerly Qwest for 39 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post #2 Auxiliary; volunteered for many years for the Swing for the Mentally Challenged Benefit and worked the Irish Breakfasts at Memories Lounge. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Pleas; sister, Judy and brothers, Keith and Rodney. She is survived by daughters, April Scott and Kelly Pleas both of Council Bluffs; 4 grandchildren, Darian, Denine, Nadine and Clarissa; mother, Norma Pleas; brothers, Dawayne (Teresa) Pleas, Gary (Judy) Pleas, Randy Pleas all of Council Bluffs; sisters, Brenda (Doug) Kramer of Omaha, Beverly (Terry) Pierson of Council Bluffs; many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held, Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 2-6 p.m. at Uncle Mike and Maggies Irish Pub, 319 North 16th St. in Council Bluffs. The family will direct memorials. Linda has been cremated; no viewing.
