Funeral for Jack W. Kennedy, 56, Route 1, retired Council Bluffs police officer, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Cutler Funeral Home.
The Rev. E. A. Hering will officiate. Interment will be in Plumer Settlement Cemetery.
Kennedy died Monday at an Omaha hospital after a short illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Julie and Kelly, and a son, Lee “Butch”, all of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren; a sister, Jane Benson of Guam, and a brother, Donald of San Diego, Calif.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cutler's.
Jack W. Kennedy, 56, Route 1, died today at an Omaha hospital after an extended illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs and retired in 1973 on a disability pension from the Council Bluffs Police Department.
Kennedy was named probationary patrolman in 1952, promoted to detective in 1961, and to sergeant in 1967.
He was the recipient of a citation in 1959 for his part in the apprehension of a man during an armed robbery at the Kimball Laundry at 1816 W. Broadway.
Kennedy was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Funeral services are pending at the Cutler Funeral Home.
