Henry Husen died at his home on the Council Bluffs road, Tuesday, March 27th. The funeral was held Thursday, interment being in the Lutheran church cemetery in the Plumer settlement. A large number of friends were present notwithstanding the bad state of the roads that day. Rev. Joe Stille preached the sermon, taking his text from Hebrews, 9th chapter and 27th verse, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment.” Mr. Stille called attention to the fact that Mr. Husen would have been 57 years of age had he lived but a day longer. He had lived on the farm where he died about twenty years and was well known and respected. He leaves a wife and seven children most of them grown.
