Funeral Services Held For William Horn
Wm. Horn, 79, passed away on Friday at his home north of Glenwood, following a brief illness.
The body was removed to the Raynor Funeral Home here in this city and funeral services were held this Monday afternoon in the Lutheran church in the Plumer settlement, north of Glenwood, with the Rev. O. C. Biermann, pastor of the Mineola Lutheran church, in charge of the services.
Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.
Mr. Horn is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Grudle, of Council Bluffs; two sons, Wm. H. Horn of Sioux City, and John Horn of Glenwood.
Funeral Services Held For William Horn
William Horn was born Nov. 12, 1853, in Germany. Here in Essenstadt, Prussia, he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In the year 1879 he came to America. He lived in Treynor for a time, but his last 50 years he lived near Dumfries.
In the year 1896 on April 16 he united in marriage to Adelheid Legenhausen. He died Friday, Sept. 8, at 2 o'clock p. m.
The deceased enjoyed health, work and prosperity until in the late summer his health began to fail, age with its bodily ailments causing his end.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Adelheid; three children, Wm. Horn of Sioux City, Lillie Grudle of Council Bluffs, and John Horn of Dumfries. Also six grandchildren and for great-grandchildren survive him.
He reached the age of 79 years 9 months and 27 days.
Funeral services, which were supervised by the Raynor Funeral Home were held on Monday afternoon at the home at 1:30 and at the Brick church at 2:00 p. m. Rev. O. C. Biermann, pastor of the Mineola Lutheran church, was in charge of the services, music being furnished by the Mineola choir.
Those acting as pallbearers were Martin Hansen, Carl Spetman, Mike Konz, Henry Winters, Emil Schoening and Ed Leick.
The body was laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery.
