Webmaster Note: On p. 136 in Mills County Iowa Cemeteries, Friedrich Hopp is listed as having no gravestone, but is shown as a possible burial at the cemetery based upon “difficult to decipher” church records written in “old script”. Adrienne Karr's research of church records has resulted in the “difficult to decipher” script (shown here) as well as a short anecdotal bio and account of Fritz's cause of death from Wilda (George) Hatcher, which is as follows: “Friedrich born 1833 in Germany, died 15 July 1873 of sunstroke on farm in Mineola, IA, buried Salem Lutheran Cem according to Mineola Church records; there is no stone.”
