Mrs. Rachel A. Green, 48, wife of Charles J. Green, died at 7:30 a. m. Saturday at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines of a major operation, ruptured appendix.

Mrs. Green, who was born at Persia, lived at Menlo and will be buried at Plumer Settlement cemetery in Oak township. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Tuesday from Cutler's chapel.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Marian Green at home; Mrs. William Miller of Harlan and Mrs. George Woodward of Omaha; one sister, Mrs. Roy McGavern of Persia and one brother, Fred Funk of Littleton, Col.

Cutler's funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
