Norma Louise (Bruce) Green, 94, of Glenwood, entered into eternal rest on Nov. 14, 2010, at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov, 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Peterson Mortuary. Pastor Mike Stevens will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Pacific Junction United Methodist Church or Glen Haven Home. Interment will be at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Glenwood.
She was born March 27, 1916, in Pottawattamie County to John Peter and Nell Berniece (Russell) Bruce. Norma graduated from Glenwood High School in 1934. She was employed with Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator. Norma was united in marriage to Walter Henry Green on Aug. 30, 1939, in Rock Port, Mo. To this union three daughters were born, Sally, Janice and Kathy. Norma enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She was a member of the Pacific Junction United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and Women's Club.
Preceding Norma in death were her parents, husband Walter in 2002, brother, John Russel “Jack” Bruce and sister, Frances Hansen. She is survived by her children, Sally and husband Doug Grantham of Johnstown, Colo.; Janice and husband David Zito of Carlsbad, Calif.; Kathy and husband Dick Biermann of Glenwood; five grandchildren, Jill and husband Darren Kinder of Salt Lake City, Utah; Jason and wife Ana Grantham of Erie, Colo.; Kellie Zito of Glendale, Calif.; Matt and wife Kendra Biermann of Glenwood; Ann Biermann of Chicago, Ill.; five great-grandchildren; sister, Kathryn Reeves of Tabor; brother, Donnie and wife Diane Bruce of Glenwood; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
