Julius Green, the 18-year-old son of Charles Green, a prominent farmer of the Plumer settlement in Lewis township, was drowned in the plunge bath of the sulpho-saline sanitarium at Lincoln, Neb., late Tuesday afternoon. The young man had been attending the Western Normal school at Lincoln and with a companion went to the natatorium for a plunge. In the center of the natatorium the water is ten feet deep, gradually sloping down from the sides. The attendant asked young Green if he could swim and upon receiving a negative reply warned him against the deep water. It is stated that there were some fifteen or twenty people in bathing at the time and that when last seen Green was standing in the shallow portion of the bath. When the attendant returned in ten or fifteen minutes Green was not to be found. A search was instituted and he was found at the bottom of the tank. No one had noticed him drown. The body was brought to this city yesterday morning and taken to the home of the father, six miles south of the city. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 1 o'clock.
