Henry J. Green, 69, Route 4, died Sunday at a local hospital following a short illness. Born at Denton, Neb., he had resided most of his life in the Council Bluffs area. He was engaged in farming and also was a county assessor for Boomer and Rockford Townships.
Green was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: widow, Marie A.; son, H. Darrell, of Council Bluffs; daughter, Mrs. Marietta Manrose of Memphis, Tenn.
Seven brothers, Carl of Glenwood, Victor, Howard and Herbert, all of Council Bluffs, Irwin of San Francisco, Calif., Chester and Grover, both of Los Angeles, Calif.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Albert C. Burroughs will officiate. Interment will be in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the Meyer Chapel until 11 a.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the church. It may be viewed at the church until the hour of the service, the casket will then be closed.
The family suggested memorials may be made to either St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
