Funeral Services For Mary Louise Fullenwider
Mary Louise, daughter of Joseph and Sophia Fullenwider, was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jan 27, 1915 and died in the same city on Jan. 25, 1935, lacking only two days of being 20 years of age.
She is survived by her parents, two sisters, Ruth and Lavenia, and grandfather, Wm. Fullenwider of Colorado.
Mary made her home in Council Bluffs from the time of her birth until the family located in St. Marys township, Mills county, where they have made their home ever since. It was here that this girl grew up and proved her real worth in most every way. Possessing a rugged body and a willing, cheerful disposition she fitted perfectly into the labors of the family in turning their home in the wilderness into one of the most attractive and lovely places in the entire community.
Mary's real beauty of character and soul was to be seen almost every Sunday, when, in spite of bad roads or inclement weather, she would make her way to the little school house where she helped to carry on the work of a small Sunday school. There oftentimes, when the weather was bad, she would be found with only one pupil in her class, but that one was very precious to her and she felt her time was being well spent in instructing that one in the ways of the Christian life.
Funeral services under the direction of the Raynor Funeral Home, were held in Council Bluffs Monday afternoon, with Rev. T. J. Pettit, pastor of the Pacific Junction Methodist church, in charge.
Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Gertrude Day and daughter Marjorie of Council Bluffs.
The flower girls were Dorothy Wait, Alice Klindt, Irene Wilson and Helen Green.
The pallbearers were Henry Thieschafer, Walter Thieschafer, Richard Green, Walter Green, Marvin Peterson, and Earl Haynie.
Burial was made in the Plumer Lutheran Cemetery.
Fullenwider Girl Dies In Bluffs Hospital
Mary Louise Fullenwider, 19, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fullenwider of near Folsom, died Friday in a Council Bluffs hospital following a short illness from pneumonia.
Besides her parents she is survived by two sisters, Ruth and Lavina, at home.
The body was removed to the Raynor Funeral Home here in Glenwood and services were held this Monday afternoon at the Belford chapel in Council Bluffs, with Rev. T. J. Pettit, pastor of the Pacific Junction church, in charge.
Burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery in the Plumer settlement.
