Esther Burck

Esther Burck, 66, of Council Bluffs died Oct. 1 after a 1 1/2-year illness.

She was born and had lived in Council Bluffs all her life, and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Burck and her husband, Rowland, had been married for 47 years.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Janet Hartman, of Omaha; a son, LaVerne, of Council Bluffs; her mother, Gerda Coulter, of Council Bluffs; a brother, Johnny Petersen, of Council Bluffs; a sister, Virginia Flanagan, of Shell Knob, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home.

Funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Aaron Simons, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the church.
