Paul Brandt Died of Typhus Fever in Texas

Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon in Council Bluffs for Paul Brandt, 44, former resident of St. Mary's township, who passed away at his home in Alamo, Texas, on October 31 from the effects of typhus fever.

Mr. Brandt was a World war veteran, having enlisted here and served as corporal in the 163rd Depot brigade. The body was laid to rest in the Plumer cemetery.

Mr. Brandt, who went to Texas following the World war, is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Brandt, well known former Mills county residents who now reside in Alamo, Texas; three brothers, Carl Brandt of Dumfries, and Albert and John Brandt of Council BLuffs; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Bostedt and Mrs. Julia Van Der Veer, both of Council Bluffs.

Brandt Funeral To Be Held In McAllen Today

Funeral services for Paul Henry Brandt, 44, adjutant and service officer of the Alamo American Legion post who died at his home in Alamo Thursday, will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Kriedler chapel in McAllen. Interment will be in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Brandt came to the Valley with his parents shortly after the World war. He had gained the reputation of being one of the best service officers in the entire Valley. He was popular, not only among the Legionnaires but with everyone residing near Alamo.

Pallbears will be chosen from members of the Alamo post of the American Legion.

He is survived by his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. J. B. Brandt; three brothers, Carl, John and A.C; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Bostedt and Mrs. Julie Vanderveer, of Council Bluffs.
