Al J. Brandt, 73, Route 1, died Friday morning at his home following a heart attack.
He was born and lived his entire lifetime at the same home. A farmer, he was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, and a member of American Legion Post No. 141 of Glenwood.
He was an avid fisherman and bowler. He and his wife, Dorothy L. (Buch), observed their 47th wedding anniversary on July 10.
Survivors besides his wife include three sons, Keith, Pensacola, Fla., Roger and Mark, both of Omaha; two daughters, Mrs. Miles (Joyce) McMahill, Gretna, Neb., Mrs. Richard (Michele) Delanty, Sunrise Beach, Mo.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Betty) Terry, Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Art (Merna) Lodge, Lac Du Bonet, Manitoba, Canada.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Cutler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Arlyn Sturtz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Glenwood, officiating. Burial will be in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.
Family visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Monday at the Cutler Chapel. The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood or the American Heart Association.
