Services were Jan. 3 for Adolph A. Arp, 88, rural Council Bluffs, who died Dec. 31 at a Council Bluffs hospital after a long illness. He was born and raised in St. Mary's township where he farmed his entire life.
He was born Feb. 2, 1890, the son of Joachem and Elizabeth Arp. He was baptized and confirmed in the Salem Church in the Plumer Settlement.
On Oct. 7, 1914, he was married to Nellie Karr at Council Bluffs.
Mr. Arp was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Glenwood.
Services were at the Raynor, Lett and Kent Funeral Home with the Rev. Laine A. Mathiason conducting.
Bearers were David McIntosh, Herbert Nansel, Harlan Rohrberg, Virgil Rohrberg, Robert Scheidle and Elmer Schroeder.
Burial was in the Plumer Cemetery, northwest of Mineola.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Alvin, and a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Kotrba, both of Council Bluffs; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
