Webmaster Note: On p. 136 in Mills County Iowa Cemeteries, Margaretha and Albert Alberts are listed as having no gravestones, but are listed as possible burials at the cemetery based upon “difficult to decipher” church records written in “old script”. Margaretha's birth date is shown in the book as 12 Aug 1819, making her 83 years old at the time of her death, and not 23 years as shown in her first obituary. Census records of the Albert and Mary Alberts family and the 2nd obituary indicate that the 1819 birth date is accurate, and that is also confirmed in the church record shown below.

Mrs. Mary Alberts.

Mrs. Mary Alberts, aged 23 years, died at 12:30 a.m. yesterday at the family residence in Lewis township. She had been suffering of paralysis for the last eleven weeks. One son, John Alberts, and three daughters survive her. The funeral will leave the family residence at 10 o'clock this morning and move to the German Lutheran church in the Plumer settlement where funeral services will be held, the Rev. Hoff officiating. The remains will be interred at the cemetery in the Plumer settlement.

   The funeral of Mrs. Mary Alberts will be held this morning at 10 o'clock from the family residence in Lewis township to the German Lutheran church in the Plumer settlement, where the services will be held. Rev. Mr. Hoff officiating. Interment will be had in the Plumer cemetery. An error was made yesterday in stating that the funeral was to be held Thursday morning. Mrs. Alberts was 83 years and 3 months old at the time of her death, which was caused by paralysis, from which she had been suffering for eleven days. The childrren who survive are three daughters—Mrs. John Kettring of this city, Mrs. J. Hansen of Persia and Mrs. H. Bensing of Carmen, Okla., and one son, John Alberts.
